The Making of Rosie – The Best Little Van on the Road!

Who did what? I designed her, and redesigned her. I planned, researched, drew schematics, measured a gazillion things a gazillion times…and built the interior (almost 100% me). I had a GREAT time getting creative and coming up with what I think are some pretty ingenious ideas.

My husband: designed the electrical system and plumbing systems and did most of that work. He helped with the interior at times, and he did all the nail-biting cutting into the van itself (I just couldn’t make myself do it!)

We started with an empty van and an idea
First thing we did was install a backup cam and new Media system with NAV
Weekend Warrior Work Station
Killmat – a product you apply for soundproofing and insulation
Cutting the windows with Josephine (my jigsaw)

Cabinet framing and bed design #1 in progress

Anchoring everything into the metal – making sure nothing moves.
We used T-rail for the framing. Aluminum – strong, light, versatile
